Alcohol Ink
Rocky Ledge.jpg

I love the challenge of discovering new ways of creating art. Alcohol ink, my newest medium, is dye rather than paint, so the results are vivid colors and transparency. They are much like working with watercolors except the process is more spontaneous since alcohol dries in less than a minute. Therefore, planning ahead is critical. I choose my color schemes and composition, and watch the magic happen.

Return to Nature

Return to Nature is about taking a fresh look at the things we neglect to see everyday, the vibrant,  sensual colors that reflect the seasons as they change, leaves fall and plants wither as cold and dry seasons approach.  The spring melt increases river flow dramatically. The sun setting earlier/days getting shorter; leaves changing color; geese migrating,  the appearance of monarch butterflies heading South; the days getting colder, and plants ending their growing season.
